Attending the Parade?
Here're some tips:
This is a small, relaxed neighborhood event. Its audience consists of YOU, Wallingford neighborhood residents, and friends & families of marchers. Giant rowdy crowds seldom appear in Wallingford. (Ok, there are the July 4 fireworks at Gasworks. Do NOT expect the same for the Wallingford Parade!)
Here, there is room for everyone!
Getting here:
The parade goes along N 45th Street from Bagley Avenue N to Interlake Avenue N from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
There is no parking along N 45th or one block on either side of the parade route by 8:00am on parade day.
Parking is relatively easy to find on nearby blocks. If possible, consider taking public transit, a cab, Uber/Lift, or riding your bike.
Buses 44 & 62 (that normally come through Wallingford on N 45th) will be rerouted between 10:30am and 12:30pm. They can, however, get you within a few blocks of the parade.
Once you're here:
Because this is a small event, there's room for everyone, and everyone is welcome!
Length
The parade lasts about 60 minutes MAX. Afterward, there will be a half-hour gathering at Lincoln High School for prize announcements.
What spot to pick?
Watchers sit on both sides of the street. Feel free to bring portable chairs if you want to sit.
The Parade Announcer and Judges sit in front of Wallingford Center (45th & Wallingford). That's where marchers shine (special routines, bands play music, etc)! It's also nice to hear background on the marchers as the Parade Announcer tells their stories.
Restrooms
We do not provide portable restrooms. Please plan accordingly, or visit a local merchant to access theirs.

Finally, welcome to Wallingford!
After the parade, stick around for lunch at one of the local restaurants, have a drink at a local bar, or drop by one of the fine and unique merchants along 45th. They are what makes this stretch of street a neighborhood!
